Honest answer up front: we collect the minimum we need to send you your order and keep the shop running. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. Below is exactly what we hold, why we hold it, and how to make us delete it.
Who we are
SlimGlowShop is an online store operating at slimglowshop.com. For data protection purposes, SlimGlowShop is the data controller for the information described on this page. You can reach us at any time at support@slimglowshop.com.
What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and phone number if you provide one. We need these to fulfil and deliver your order.
When you pay: nothing. Card and payment details go directly to PayPal and are processed on their systems. We never see, receive, or store your full card number.
When you create an account: your email address and a hashed password. We cannot read your password.
When you join our email list: your email address, and only if you actively opt in.
When you contact us: whatever you put in the message, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
Automatically, when you browse: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring site. This is standard web analytics and is used in aggregate to understand what is working on the site.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for three things: keeping items in your cart, keeping you logged in, and measuring how our advertising performs.
Essential cookies are set by WooCommerce and WordPress. Without them the cart and checkout do not work. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics and advertising cookies are set by Google (Google Ads and Google Analytics), and by Meta, TikTok and Pinterest where we run advertising. These help us see which ads lead to sales so we do not waste money showing you things you do not want. You can refuse these through your browser settings or our cookie banner without losing any shop functionality.
You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Doing so may mean you have to log in again or rebuild your cart.
Who we share data with
We share only what is necessary, only with these categories of partner, and never for their own marketing:
- Our fulfilment and shipping partners — your name and delivery address, so the parcel reaches you.
- PayPal — payment processing. Governed by PayPal’s own privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider — stores the site and its database on secure servers.
- Our email provider — sends order confirmations and, if you opted in, marketing emails.
- Analytics and advertising platforms — Google, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest, in the form of aggregated and pseudonymised event data.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to data brokers. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information by a valid court order, we will comply, and we will tell you unless legally barred from doing so.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years, because tax and accounting rules require it. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Marketing email data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained for 26 months and then automatically deleted.
Your rights
Wherever you live, we apply these rights to everyone rather than only to the regions that legally require them:
- Access — ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correction — have anything inaccurate fixed.
- Deletion — have your data erased, except order records we are legally required to retain.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable file.
- Objection — tell us to stop using your data for marketing or profiling.
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in every email we send.
To exercise any of these, email support@slimglowshop.com. We respond within 30 days and we do not charge for it. If you are in the EU or UK and you are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Security
The entire site runs over HTTPS with a valid SSL certificate. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Payment data never touches our servers. That said, no online service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
Children
Our products and this site are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it immediately.
International transfers
We ship worldwide, so your data may be processed on servers outside your home country, including outside the EEA. Where that happens for EEA or UK residents, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how we use your data, email anyone on our list. We will not make a significant change quietly.
